Buyer Deal Dashboard and Document Workspace

Improvement

Buyers See Their Whole Deal in One Place

The Buyer Portal now opens on a deal dashboard that shows each of your deals with its current status and next steps, replacing the old pipeline board.

Buyers also get a permanent document workspace: every document you've uploaded lives in one place, you can withdraw or archive a file you no longer want shared, and you choose which sellers see which documents. Proposals and term sheets now flow both ways too, so buyer and seller can close the loop inside the platform.

Milestone-Driven Section 6418 Closing Checklists

New

A Closing Checklist That Matches Your Deal

Section 6418 transfers now get purpose-built closing checklists keyed to the deal's structure. Items unlock milestone by milestone — as the term sheet is executed and the deal progresses — so the checklist always reflects where the transaction actually is.

There's also a go-to-market readiness checklist that shows sellers what needs to be in order before a credit is ready to offer to buyers.

Tax Equity for Individual Investors Guide

New

How Individuals Participate in Clean Energy Tax Equity

We've published a new educational page explaining how individual investors can participate in clean energy tax equity — what the structures look like, how Section 6418 credit transfers and depreciation fit together, and what to discuss with your tax advisor.

It's written in plain English for high-income individuals and their CPAs, with a worked example. Find it in the site menu, and talk to your own advisor before acting on anything.

In-App Data Rooms for Buyers

New

Diligence Documents, Delivered in the Platform

Sellers can now publish diligence documents into a data room organized the way deals actually work: portfolio, then projects, then individual credits. Approved buyers read everything in the app, behind the access grant and the NDA.

Buyer firms can also invite their own team — CFO, CPA, counsel, treasury — so everyone who needs to review the deal can, each with their own login and notification bell.

Public Credit Catalogue

New

Browse Available Tax Credits, No Account Needed

There's now a public catalogue of available tax credits anyone can browse. See the essentials on each listing, and verify your email to unlock pricing details.

Sellers choose exactly which credits appear in the catalogue and can send it directly to interested buyers, and buyers can request access to a full data room from any listing. Sellers are notified of each request and approve or deny it in one click.

Buyer Portal

New

A Dedicated Home for Credit Buyers

Credit buyers now have their own Buyer Portal. Sign in with a secure email link — no password to remember — and browse the tax credits available to you, with the key facts laid out for each one.

Found something interesting? Request data room access on the spot, and track the status of your requests as sellers respond. It's the start of a full buyer-side experience on DealStar.

Online NDA Signing

New

Sign the NDA in Your Browser

Prospects can now sign an NDA directly in the browser before viewing shared deal materials: read the agreement, sign with a signature pad, and you're in.

A signed PDF with the embedded signature is generated automatically and delivered by email to both parties, so everyone has a copy for their records.

Document Requests with Secure Upload Links

New

Ask for Documents, Get Them Back in the Right Place

You can now request documents directly from a deal checklist, individually or in batches. Each request generates a secure upload link the other party can use to send files back, with no DealStar account required.

Uploaded files land on the matching checklist item automatically, and you're notified when they arrive. No more chasing attachments through email threads.

Document Hub Overhaul

Improvement

One Place for Every Deal Document

The Document Hub got a major upgrade. Uploads are now durable and routed to the right place on the deal, there's a built-in viewer so you can read documents without downloading them, and a notification in the navbar tells you when something new arrives.

A new Missing Documents tab compares what's on file against the due diligence checklist for the deal, so you can see exactly which documents are still outstanding.

Prohibited Foreign Entity Compliance Tracking

New

Stay Ahead of the New Foreign Entity Rules

Recent federal law (OBBBA) and IRS guidance added Prohibited Foreign Entity (PFE) and material assistance rules that can affect a project's credit eligibility.

DealStar now tracks PFE and material assistance compliance per project, so sellers can document their position and buyers and CPAs can see it addressed in diligence rather than discovering it at closing.

One-Click Energy Community Verification

Improvement

Check the Energy Community Adder Without Leaving the Page

The Energy Community bonus adder can add 10 percentage points to a project's ITC, so verifying it matters. You can now validate a project's Energy Community status with one click, directly from the adder screen.

DealStar checks the project's location against the federal Energy Community datasets and records the result, giving buyers and CPAs a documented basis for the adder claim.

Deal Decks

New

Shareable Presentations, Generated from Your Deal Data

You can now turn a portfolio or credit into a polished, hosted slide deck without leaving DealStar. Build the deck from your deal data, refine it with AI-assisted editing, and publish it to a private link.

Share the link with a prospect by email, protected by an NDA gate: they sign before they see the deck. You get notified the first time your deck is viewed, so you know when a prospect is engaging.

Deal Pipeline Dashboard

New

Your Whole Pipeline on One Board

The dashboard is now a deal pipeline board: every portfolio sits in a stage column, from first contact through closing, so you can see where each deal stands at a glance.

A metrics bar shows your active deals, total pipeline value, and average days to close, and deals that haven't moved in two weeks are flagged as stale. Each portfolio also gets an activity timeline showing recent events on the deal, so you always know what happened last.

Live Webinars

New

Learn Tax Credit Transfers with Us, Live

DealStar now hosts live webinars on tax credit transfers, due diligence, and the clean energy marketplace.

The webinar page shows the next upcoming session front and center so you can register in one click, and past sessions are available to watch on your own schedule. When a webinar is coming up, you'll also see a site-wide banner so you don't miss it.

Static Pages and Marketing Overhaul

Improvement

Refreshed Design and Content Across the Platform

We've completed a comprehensive overhaul of all public-facing pages with updated branding, improved navigation, and richer content throughout.

What's New

  • Rewritten landing pages — Buyer, CPA, and credit structure pages now have richer value propositions and clearer calls to action
  • Consistent design system — Unified navigation, typography, and hero sections across every page
  • Enhanced resource guides — Multi-chapter deep dives on Domestic Content Bonus, ITC vs. PTC, Prevailing Wage, Section 6418, and Transferable Tax Credits, all with improved formatting and navigation
  • New downloadable resources — Section 48(e) ITC Documentation Checklist, Tax Credit Qualification Paths Advisor Guide, and the Renewable Energy Tax Mitigation Guide

The goal: make DealStar the most comprehensive educational resource for clean energy tax credit transactions, not just the best platform for executing them.

AMT Limitations Research Brief

New

Deep-Dive: How AMT Affects Section 6418 Credit Buyers

We've published a detailed research brief covering how both Individual AMT and the Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax (CAMT) affect purchasers of transferable tax credits.

Key Topics

  • Individual AMT impact — How the parallel tax system can erode purchased credits dollar-for-dollar when tentative minimum tax exceeds regular tax
  • Passive Activity Limitations — Why IRC Section 469 restricts most transferees to offsetting only passive income, and the structural constraints this creates
  • Corporate AMT (CAMT) — How the IRA specifically protects Section 6418 credits from CAMT erosion, and the 75% GBC offset limitation
  • Deal structuring considerations — Practical guidance for CAMT-subject buyers on current-year utilization caps and carryforward strategies

Written for CPAs, tax attorneys, and institutional credit buyers evaluating Section 6418 opportunities. Available at /resources/section-6418-amt-limitations.

Klaviyo Lead Capture Integration

New

Automated Lead Enrichment from Calculators and Wizards

All lead capture points across the platform — the Project Economics Calculator, Income Qualification Wizard, and resource downloads — now feed directly into Klaviyo for automated email nurturing.

How It Works

  • Calculator leads include project metadata: project type, system size, state, ITC rate, and total estimated credit amount
  • Qualification wizard leads include entity type, tax liability bracket, income sources, and recommended pathway
  • Automatic audience segmentation — leads are tagged by source and enriched with deal-relevant data for targeted follow-up
  • CRM sync — every lead also creates a ProjectContact record in DealStar for the sales team

This means qualified prospects who engage with educational tools automatically enter the right nurture sequence based on their profile and interests.
